- What is Practicum 451?
- A psych majors’ opportunity to get some applied hands on experience.
- 3 prerequisites: Abnormal Psychology (247), Personality Psychology (246) OR Social Psychology (264), and Intro to Theories of Counseling (450)
- 450 needs social or personality
- 120 hours of service within the community
- Find your own sites
- “job hunt from hell”
- Multiple areas you can intern: hospitals, schools, non-profits, and communities
- 3 prerequisites: Abnormal Psychology (247), Personality Psychology (246) OR Social Psychology (264), and Intro to Theories of Counseling (450)
- Group supervision – 12 – 15 individuals for one hour per week
- Treated as a graduate school class
- Talk about ethical dilemmas and theories
- A psych majors’ opportunity to get some applied hands on experience.
